Wow, another day at Kingswood draws to a close, where to start...last night.
One of the easiest first nights ever, the girls were brilliant, all settled really well, with just a bit of chatter, but nothing more serious and they all slept reasonably well. Breakfast, the most important meal of the day, was bacon, hoops, toast, cereals, yoghurts and fruit - all went down very well.
The action started soon after breakfast with a full day of activites with the highlights being the old favourite, high adrenelin ones of zip wire, a team challenge assault course, climbing, archery, zip wire and nightline. All the girls were encouraged to set themselves a realistic "target" for most acitivites and then challenged to beat them, as well as to work as a team to encourage each other and complete the tasks. Many instructors have commented on how they have needed to adapt the activities to make them more challenging for our girls - a huge compliment from staff who see hundreds of different children every week.
The sun has been shining on us all day and suncream has been liberally applied to all.
A full roast dinner was very welcome; choices of chicken or beef with cauliflower cheese, roast pots. yorkshire puddings, sprouts and carrots, followed by a dognut for those with any room left.
Scrapheap challenge was the evening entertainment - designing and marketing a device for transporting fragile material through space, built from scrap, protecting a water bomb - one instructor landed up getting very wet!
All the girls are now settled down for the night - some very tired bodies have been dragged into their bunks, but all happy with a mind buzzing full of new experiences.
More to follow tomorrow.

Thanks to the parent who warned about the problems of trying to post comments using an Apple Mac ... I thought it was just me ..! I have been trying to post comments for my daughter since Tuesday - I have used my mac laptop and desktop and even my iPhone but nothing has worked! A polite request for SHS to become a bit more 'mac friendly' please ...
Hi Indy,
It has been exhilarating reading the blog and following all the girls' adventures - almost like being there ... I can't wait to hear what your final day has been like ..?
I have sent the blog link to Zahra so she can read all about your exploits too. Bubble misses you (as do we) - she turned her house upside down the day you left ... not quite sure why ..
Looking forward to you coming home tomorrow and telling us your adventures in person. I would love to do the zip line myself .. can you please ask Mr Willatt and Mrs Dickson if they could organise a parents' retreat ..?
Love you lots - Mummy xxx

Note for Mac users - I've changed the settings on the 'Comments' tab so that it should work with Macs now. I hadn't been aware of this problem before so thanks for bringing it to my attention. It's a recognised issue on the Blogger forum and I've used their suggested remedy to fix it, so fingers crossed.
